Roccolina
Light fresh white wine from various indigenous grape varieties of the Maremma region in Tuscany: Procanico, Ansonica, Francesino (Clairette), Duropersico, Nocchianello Bianco and Verdello. Winemaking with short skin contact fermentation on native yeasts, aged six months in stainless steel tanks.
About This Wine
Roccolina comes from the young vineyards of Ranchelle, planted in 2015 with a selection of white grape varieties of the region to recreate the character of the once famous Tuscan white wine “Bianco di Pitigliano.”
Each variety is harvested separately at optimal ripeness. After destemming the must starts fermenting with the skins, but after two days it is gently pressed and fermentation continues without the skins. Once both alcoholic and malolatic fermentation are complete, the different wines are blended and aged in steel tanks.
The Roccolina white wine combines the substance and light tannic grip of a skin contact wine with the freshness and aromatic flavours of a classical white wine without skin contact. Even without oak aging it has the substance and structure to evolve gracefully in bottle for several years.
