Roccolina Bianco
White wine from a blend of Procanico, Clairette (Francesino), Riminese (Duropersico), Nocchianello Bianco and Verdello grapes, with a short skin maceration on native yeasts and ageing in stainless steel.
About This Wine
Roccolina Bianco comes from a young vineyard planted in 2015 in an area historically named “Roccolina” on old cadastral maps. Here, a selection of traditional white varieties from Pitigliano is grown together to recreate the character of the historic Bianco di Pitigliano.
Each variety is harvested separately at optimal ripeness. After destemming, the must begins fermenting together with the skins; after two to three days, it is gently pressed and the fermentation continues without skins. When both alcoholic and malolactic fermentations are complete, the different wines are blended and aged in stainless steel.
Roccolina Bianco combines the substance and light tannic grip of a brief skin-contact white with the freshness and aromatic lift of a classic white wine. Even without oak ageing, it has enough body and structure to evolve gracefully in bottle for several years.
